About HomeRiskFacts

The records on radon and drinking water already exist. They are scattered across federal databases, PDF reports and agency maps that few people have time to read.

HomeRiskFacts puts them in one place, by state and city, in plain language. When you search for your city's water today, most results come from companies selling filters. We don't sell filters, tests or mitigation, and we don't rank providers, so the numbers here are not written to lead you to a purchase.

What we promise

  • Every number traces to a named public source and a date, listed in the methodology.
  • We compare results only with limits that EPA has actually set, and we say when a rule is still changing.
  • We show what the data cannot tell you, such as your own home's radon level or the pipes under your street.
  • Corrections are welcome. Write to us through the contact page.

Independence

HomeRiskFacts is an independent site. It is not affiliated with the Environmental Protection Agency, any state agency or any water utility. The site may show advertising to cover its costs; ads never change the data.
